Used for metal finishing, flap discs are abrasive surfaces with overlapping "flaps" bonded to a backing plate. The abrasive flaps are adhered to a rigid backing plate to allow continual exposure of new layers as the flaps wear for a consistent finish and an extended life. Backing plates provide stability during operation for less vibration, so your surfaces will have a smoother finish. Type 27 flap discs are ideal for weld grinding, deburring, rust removal and edge grinding on metal materials.
