Hex tap bolts, or tapping screws, are fully threaded, low carbon hex head bolts. Featured with hexagon-shaped heads, these bolts are tightened using a wrench or socket. They are commonly used along with nuts to fasten materials together or are installed in drilled and tapped holes. Hex tap bolts come zinc plated and stainless steel. The first is used in most common applications, while the latter is easy to sanitize and resists corrosion from water, humidity and other oxidizing agents.
