Hole Saws & Spade Bits

Sometimes referred to as a hole cutter, a hole saw is a saw blade formed into a ring of specific diameter for cutting holes in metal, wood and other materials. Its positive tooth configuration allows for fast, smooth cuts and less vibration in steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, plastic and wood. Another form of hole cutting technology is the spade point bit. Used typically for wood, spade point bits have sharp blades extending out either side of a hole centering point for scooping out material from the hole. These two blades have small spurs on their outer ends for pre-scoring the cut resulting in a cleaner hole.
