STEEL STUD CUTTING TIPS (USING CSM14MB)

• Wear ear and eye protection while performing this cutting operation.
• Use the Saw Vice to hold the work material in place. Never use your hands - you could be seriously injured.
• Nest the steel studs to allow the vice the best grip on the work piece. If only cutting one piece, use a scrap piece of the same material for support and slide it behind the cut.
• Use horizontal cutting on 16-18 gauge single or multiple nested studs or single piece of 20-24 gauge with stud positioned in the "Open Channel Up" position.
• Use vertical cutting on 20-24 guage nested studs.
• Never cut single studs in the "Open Channel Down" position.
• Do not cut less than 1" off the end of a steel stud.
• Do not try to cut too many studs at once. If you are cutting more than two studs at once, a fixture must be used to securely hold the studs while cutting.
